At Fundación Felisa we have spent months working on the front line so that the people affected by the DANA floods can gradually get their lives back. Over that time, we have learned something important:

Felisa Contigo exists precisely to close that gap. It is an information ecosystem designed to make the whole range of available support reachable, without anyone getting lost in paperwork, endless procedures or questions that go unanswered.

Although the floods caused economic losses of over €17 billion and more than €16 billion in support was made available, the reality is that a huge proportion of the people affected have not been able to apply for it. Some figures that show it:

• Only 10% of the advance payments available were applied for in the first months after the disaster.

• Of more than 100,000 businesses and self-employed people who could apply for state support, barely 11,000 did.

• 68% of the people our foundation surveyed find the official information confusing.

• 85% do not know which official channels they should be checking.

Many families miss out because they do not know, because they are unsure about the requirements, or simply because nobody is there to help them take the first step.

Felisa Contigo is a set of three connected tools that provide clear, up-to-date, straightforward information about all the support available after the floods:

• A WhatsApp chatbot that answers instantly what support exists, how to apply and what documents you need. It also sends you notifications when new support becomes available.
• A web platform with a detailed directory and an advanced search that sorts the resources by subject, requirements and area.
• Physical information points, run with partner institutions, where you will find printed material and staff who can guide you.

That way everyone can start their search through whichever channel suits them best and, if they need to, carry on through the others. It is all designed so the information flows without friction, is easy to understand and stays current.

Our aim is that no family is left behind for want of information. We want anyone affected to be able to identify quickly what support they are entitled to, and to get help applying for it.

If we get more households to these resources, we will be unlocking millions of euros in support that is lost to bureaucracy today. But above all, we will be taking another step toward a recovery that is fair and has dignity in it.
