Fundación Felisa at FAMILY UP’s ORGANIZADOS charity congress: joining forces to support the families affected by the DANA floods

On February 5, Fundación Felisa took part in the ORGANIZADOS charity congress, run by the FAMILY UP association at the Fundación Bancaja in Valencia. The event brought together companies, NGOs and government bodies with the aim of encouraging joint work in the face of emergencies, and a more effective, more collective response to situations like the one the floods caused.

Over the course of the day, speakers stressed how much working together matters in easing the consequences of a weather event that has hit many families hard. As well as building awareness and social commitment, the congress had another fundamental purpose: raising funds to support the people who need it most.

One of the key moments was the panel “Initiatives for the people affected by the DANA floods”, which included Margarita Albors, trustee and vice-president of Fundación Felisa. In her contribution she talked about how we are still working on rebuilding the affected communities, with a long-term view and an approach grounded in sustainability and people’s wellbeing.

Alongside Fundación Felisa, other leading figures from the social sector took part, among them Luis Miralles of Casa Caridad Valencia, Aurora Aranda of Cáritas Valencia, Joaquín Durán of Fundación Solidaridad Sobre Ruedas and María Furió of the FAMILY UP association. Their experiences and projects show the positive difference that can be made when efforts are joined up.

The ORGANIZADOS congress was a unique opportunity to firm up partnerships and strengthen the support network that makes it possible to act quickly and effectively in an emergency.
