Fundación Felisa takes part in the City Resilience Hack in Tallinn to bring new ideas to València's challenges
October 1, 2026

Yaisa Córdoba Zabala, Project Coordinator at Fundación Felisa, was part of the city’s mentor team at an international gathering on urban resilience.
How can a city be better prepared for an emergency? How can resources and neighborhood networks be activated when they are needed most? These were some of the questions behind the City Resilience Hack, held in Tallinn and focused on finding innovative solutions to challenges facing several European cities.
Five cities and 37 teams
Yaisa Córdoba Zabala took part as a mentor for València, alongside the i-Team from València Innovation Capital and representatives of other organizations. The event brought together 37 teams from 10 countries and 120 participants to work on challenges set by Tallinn, Helsinki, València, Dnipro and Lviv.

Two solutions to be tested in València
During the sessions, the teams developed proposals to make citizens more resilient to emergencies and climate challenges. The solutions selected for València will be tested in the city and address two specific needs: making it easier to coordinate volunteers and neighborhood support networks, and helping residents prepare for extreme events such as heat waves.
Resilience, built together
For Fundación Felisa, taking part in events like this one is a way to learn new approaches to challenges that affect people’s well-being and the life of cities. Resilience is also built through collaboration, by connecting public administrations, nonprofits, companies, innovation teams and communities.

The Foundation’s work in this area starts from that same outlook. Through its projects, it seeks to contribute to better-prepared communities and to support solutions that take both social and environmental needs into account.
Yaisa highlighted the value of sharing ideas with teams from different places and working from diverse perspectives. She also thanked the City of Tallinn team for their welcome and said she is looking forward to seeing the selected proposals put to the test in València.
