A game for the history books that left its mark well beyond the court

On Sunday, June 29, THE TRIBUTE GAME was played at La Fonteta. Valencia Basket had its last great night at La Fonteta de San Luis before moving on to a new chapter at the Roig Arena. It was an emotional farewell: 38 years of basketball, titles, unforgettable baskets and memories that have shaped several generations of fans. The game brought legends of Spanish basketball and of Valencia Basket Club onto the court together: Fabricio Oberto, Romain Sato, Marina Ferragut, José Manuel Calderón and Anna Gómez. Idols who pulled the shirt back on for a reason far bigger than basketball:

More than 5,000 people filled the stands at La Fonteta for a charity night that was much more than sport and nostalgia. Everything Valencia Basket raised went in full, through Fundación Felisa, to the Todos con la Educación Física en el Cole initiative.

Thanks also to the push from Cancha Solidaria Endesa, which matched the contributions of 1,300 fans who bought charity tickets, the total was multiplied so it could go further and faster.

This is a Fundación Felisa project that began as an immediate response to the damage the DANA floods did to a great many schools. Many lost sports facilities, equipment and the basic gear needed to teach the subject properly and safely.

The aim is clear: to get physical education back in all those schools, by donating sports equipment and rebuilding their sports facilities, so that children can enjoy sport and physical activity again, and everything it does for their physical, emotional and social development.

In a first phase of the initiative, run with COLEF CV and the Fundación José Manuel Calderón, 16 affected schools received sports equipment.
